2011 Juno Awards in Toronto
January 26, 2010
After almost ten years, Toronto will host the Juno Awards again in 2011!!! Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has announced it yesterday evening, even though not even the Juno Awards 2010 has taken place yet.
In 2011, the 40th anniversary of the annual music awards will be celebrated and thus the organizers have decided to bring the Junos back “home“– to the city where it all has initially started. The last ceremony took place in Toronto in 2000. In 2002, the coordinators chose an option to take the awards to a new Canadian city each year.
But where should the big anniversary be commemorated if not in Toronto – a city in which the Junos took place about 30 times? Choosing Toronto is indeed a very pleasant decision of the organizers. The ceremony will be broadcasted on March 27, 2011. However, the Juno events will last whole week here in Toronto, starting March 21. There’s still much time but I’m pretty sure I will inform you about the Junos when I learn something new.
