A New Aquarium To Be Built In Toronto

A new tourist bait, proposed by tourism operator Ripley, is going to be built in Toronto soon! The 150,000 square foot aquarium should be located at the foot of CN Tower, nearby entertainment and waterfront districts. David Whitaker, the president and chief executive officer of Tourism Toronto said "There’s a reason they (Ripley) are choosing Toronto – it speaks well of the destination. We’re really starting to find our swagger".
The facility, which will be the first significant attraction in Toronto since 1993, when the Hockey Hall of Fame was built, is supposed to open in three years. The vice-president of Canada Lands Company, the corporation which owns the CN Tower, Gordon McIvor believes that the aquarium will be a major addition to the city’s waterfront. Also, he argues that since the CN Tower is statistically the most trafficked man-made tourist facility in whole Canada, there is guaranteed audience already.
True. There certainly will be audience and since such a long time has passed since building the last big attraction, the aquarium is quite needed and it surely will be a warmly welcomed facility in Toronto. I’m looking forward to see it and I’m sure many of my fellow Torontians and tourist are too.
