Ontario's Long-Term Report on the Economy was released today! It talks about the likely happenings in our province for the next 20 years, until 2030. To mention few, for example the predicted average economic growth is 3.1 percent a year during the next five years and 2.6 percent a year from 2010 to 2030.

It is expected that the population growth in Ontario will be 28 percent, which means a gain of about 3.7 million people. The total population of Ontario is predicted to be 16.7 million in 2030. In that period, seniors should make up 21.9 percent (today it is 13.7 percent) of whole population in the province, thus increased demand for healthcare is likely to occur. The number of people aged 15-64 (working age) should decrease in next 20 years. Their share on total population will go from 69.4 percent to 61.5 percent.

Let's admit it, the population is getting old. In the future, even people who are now against them (I’m not) will probably be thankful for immigrants – they might save the situation, really. Anyway, if you want to know more about the possible future of our province, just check out the report. You will like it!
