No major spending measures, no tax increases, job creation and promoting economic growth. That is what the new Canadian budget, which is going to be released on March 4, will be about, according to the advisor of our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper.

The economy will be the main priority in 2010 too, according to the mentioned official. As he claims, the economic recovery in Canada is still considered to be very fragile and it is just the right time to change the course now. The new budget will thus also include a plan how to reduce the multibillion dollar deficit of our country.  The rate of government spending in the majority of areas – except education, health care and pensions – should be reduced in 2010.

Quite expected, I guess. But since the budget is not official yet, there is still some, even though short, time to modify it. Who knows, we might be surprised after the release.
