There will be a foundation developed for a national housing strategy until the next elections, Michael Ignatieff, the leader of Liberal Party has promised yesterday. Also, he announced his will to pay special attention to child care program.“This is the number one social priority of an incoming Liberal government.” he claims.

According to Ignatieff, all the worries about the $56 billion deficit are not a good reason not to focus on child care and early learning. If he was in the government, it would certainly find the money for this issue, he said, because to him, it seems like a great investment.“I’m not going to allow the deficit discussion to shut down discussion in this country about social justice.”

Well, I am really curious where the Liberals are going to find money, since Ignatieff has not specified it at all. Even more interesting for me will be the national housing strategy. I hope it is not just an empty promise.
