Not that I am a huge ice hockey fan, but I guess some of you are indeed, so this might be quite interesting for you. This August, Toronto will host a very attractive hockey event!!! The 2010 Molson Canadian Open Ice Summit will take place right here.
Hockey Canada, the International Ice Hockey Federation and the Canadian Hockey League, the participants of the 5 days lasting event (August 23-27) will especially deal with issues such as player safety and the future of hockey not only in Canada, but worldwide.
This will only be the second summit organized by Hockey Canada. The first was held more than 10 years ago, in 1999. According to Bob Nicholson, the president of Hockey Canada president the 1999 summit “represented a launching point for Canadian hockey, and not there is the opportunity for an even larger impact for the 2010 summit.“
It still is half a year away, so the exact topics and details about the summit are not known yet. Anyway, it is wonderful that Toronto many times hosts such representative events, isn’t it?
