Have you already heard about the recent little disagreements between Toronto Mayor David Miller and Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty? The thing is that at the beginning of the week, one of the members of the Provincial Parliament at Queen's Park, David Caplan, introduced a private member's bill proposing to make the Toronto Transit Commission an essential service, which might have initiated the following expressions.

TTC is exactly the key issue that should be debated during the municipal elections which are to take place on October 25 in our city, according to Ontario premier Dalton McGuinty. He believes there has never been a better time for a fruitful public debate on this. His words, though, did not make our Mayor happy. David Miller believes McGuinty simply should not interfere in local politics, because it is just not a right thing to do.

Well, I’m not quite sure this is a significant interference, as McGuinty only stated his opinion. But what do you think? Should the premier of Ontario really completely stay out of Toronto politics?
