Another Toronto neighborhood is going to undergo massive revitalization. After Regent Park, Lawrence Heights will be renewed, Toronto Mayor, David Miller, has announced yesterday. “Lawrence Heights is a neighborhood where the people love their neighborhood, but it also is a neighborhood where the buildings have been in decline.” Miller said.

As the buildings in the neighborhood are quite old indeed, big investment is necessary to get them to good state again.  All the 1,208 Toronto Community Housing units in Lawrence Heights are going to be replaced.  We can look forward to new parks, schools, retail and community facilities to be built.

The construction works in the neighborhood are supposed to start by the end of next year and the project should last 20 years approximately. Mayor David Miller believes that the revitalization of Lawrence Heights will help Toronto in becoming a greener and more sustainable city. I believe so, too. All the Toronto neighborhoods should be in a good condition, thus I’m glad to see the city is doing something for it.
