Yesterday, at the annual general meeting of Canadian Real Estate Association in Ottawa more than 300 of its members approved the suggested changes concerning buying and selling homes. Individuals should be given more responsibilities and become even more involved in the process of property selling.

Big changes ought to be in the Multiple Listing Service Database. While currently only licensed agents are allowed to list properties, after implementing the new measures any homeowner would be able to do so, for certain fee paid to agents. That would let people look after the process more carefully. However, they would lose a little privacy, as the agents would be obliged, if asked to do so, to provide the seller’s name and home phone number to possible buyers.

Interesting – more control over their issues will sure sound appealing to sellers. I would like to know your opinion on this. Do you think the new measures will actually stimulate the competition?
