Toronto to Host a Big Soccer Game
March 31, 2010
Are you a fan of soccer? If so, you have a great reason to be really excited. Well, at least those of you who live in Toronto or its close proximity. The 15th championship game of Major League Soccer (MLS) is going to take place right here in our city this season, MLS commissioner Don Garber announced yesterday.
The Toronto FC soccer team will provide its home playground – BMO Field on November 21 for the game. Its capacity is about 21,700 people and MLS representatives are convinced they have chosen the right place for the match and accompanying events. “We believe Toronto will be a superb backdrop for the festivities.” Garber said.
I have to say I do not usually write about sport events, but this one is really big. Actually, this will be the first time ever that the MLS championship game is not played in the US. I think it is a great choice and honor for our city to host another prestigious event.
