Fast Growing Economy
By Elli Davis, April 25, 2010
According to the World Economic Outlook report, released on Wednesday, by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Canada is going to be the fastest growing of the G7 states over the next two years - in 2010 and 2011.
This year, the IMF predicts, the economy of our country ought to grow by 3.1 percent and 3.2 percent in 2011. It states that the 'exit strategy' of Canada is less challenging than in other countries, due to the state entering the crisis in a very good shape. Not only should the economy of Canada do well in the next couple of years, the world economy overall is predicted to grow quite fast. It should be up by 4.2 percent this year and by 4.3 percent in 2011.
As Olivier Blanchard, economist from the IMF, said, the world economy is rebounding from recession and “recovering better than we had previously thought likely”. Not bad, is it?
