G20 Summit Is Here

The long expected G20 Toronto summit is just around the corner! It’s everywhere you look, that’s IF you can actually get anywhere. Trains have been cancelled, there are policemen and security people everywhere, so just moving around the city can be a tough journey, honestly.

Getting to Toronto in itself is difficult, but it is perhaps even slower (in fact it is extremely slow, as signs around Toronto warn) to get from one place to another in the city. Many downtown banks, institutions and companies have been closed and will not open until the summit is over. Their employees have been told to work from home. Protests are expected and in spite of strict security measures, people are still worried. Quite simply, it is getting crazy.

The event is really prestigious, which is just great for Toronto, as it may become the top watched place in the world for few days. But my fellow Torontians, I think your best bet is to get out of town, at least for the big weekend. I really do hope everything turns out well and Toronto will be shown in the best light possible.
