Statistics Canada has revealed surprisingly fantastic results concerning employment in Canada! Job creation activity in the country in June 2010 was extremely high, about five times higher than it was expected. Approximately 93,200 jobs were created and the unemployment rate fell to 7.9 percent over the last month, which is the lowest level of unemployment since January 2009.
The biggest number of jobs, about 21,600, was created by retail and wholesale companies. The second most productive were business, building and support services, which created about 20,000 positions last month. Full-time employment went up by 48,900, while part-time employment went up by 44,200. Payroll jobs increased by 67,600 and self-employment rose by 25,600. Among the provinces, Ontario was the leader in job creation – about 60,300 new positions were created here.
Fabulous results indeed! I am very satisfied, especially with the amazing numbers reported from Ontario. The employment situation in the province is finally starting to look more positive.
