Ford to Win Toronto Elections?

Your Vote Counts by Renee Silverman
As Mayoral elections in Toronto are getting closer, the public opinion surveys are asking the question "who are you going to vote for?” According to a very recent survey, conducted between July 30 and August 5 by the Pollstra Research, the clear winner and thus the future Mayor of Toronto will be Rob Ford.
This candidate would receive 37.6 percent of the Torontian’s votes, the survey results released on Wednesday show. The second most successful candidate is George Smitherman with 28.7 percent of the votes. Nobody else seems to be strong enough to keep up with these two candidates. Joe Pantalone would receive 15.5 percent of votes, followed by Sarah Thomson with 10.3 percent. Finally, Rocco Rossi would obtain only 7.9 percent of votes.
Well, I am usually quite skeptical about public opinion surveys. Certainly there is some measure of truth behind the surveys, but we should not rely on them too much, Nevertheless, I am guessing the race to become Mayor will be between Ford and Smitherman.
