Every once in a while, everyone, deals with the urge to significantly transform something in their home. After some time, any house, even if it looks wonderful to strangers, just seems to be a little too boring for its owners. One of the fastest, easiest and perhaps even cheapest ways to make your home look completely different is to paint it.

There are quite a few decisions to be made when planning the new look of your property. The very first issue that should be decided is whether you want to paint the exterior, interior or both. At first sight, the re-painted exterior is much more visible to everyone for obvious reasons. But generally, you can only paint the exterior if you live in a house. With condos, the choice is quite clear and it is the interior that will be redecorated with a new color. It usually is, and should be, painted more often, too.

Moreover, it is necessary to decide who will do the painting itself. If it is just you, with the assistance of family or some friends, this makeover might end up being very cheap. The only outlay will be the new paint color, some tools and probably a couple of beers and pizzas for your assistants. On the downside, though, it will take up a lot of your time and patience if there are no professional workers to help out. If you hire someone to do the job for you, you do have to pay them, but you can continue in your everyday life more or less normally.

The most essential question to be resolved is the right color. Sometimes even a dark room can be totally changed and lit up by painting one of the walls bright yellow, for instance. It is important to think about whether the color will match the furniture and accessories in the room – it does not have to be the same shade but they should be complementary. As for the exterior paint, be careful not to make your house look exactly like the one next to yours. However, it is probably not a good idea to paint the outside of the property with intense colors, a color that blends in with the neighborhood is probably the best idea.

These choices are up to you, only you know what is best for you and your home. In case you are planning to paint your home anytime soon, good luck with it!
