NOVEMBER RESULTS FROM GTA
The number of sold homes in the Greater Toronto Area increased for the fourth straight month to 88,100 in November, GTA Realtors reported.To compare: in July there were only 67,900 sales. Nonetheless, the sales in the GTA were lower this past month than they were in November 2009.
Exactly 6,510 existing home sales were recorded in the area this November, while 7,446 homes were sold in the same period a year ago, which is a 13 percent decrease. A 13 percent annual decline was also seen in new listings in the GTA, dropping to 8,642. However, there was has been an increase in prices once again. The average price for a sale was $438,030, which is about 5 percent up from November 2009.
