Better times are ahead of us, according to the newly released Index of Business Confidence! It shows that Canadian business leaders' confidence in the economy increased to its highest level in six years during the fourth quarter of 2010. The index went up from 101.9, recorded in the third quarter, to 109.5.
More than half of the business leaders in our country are convinced that the general economic conditions will keep on improving over the next six months, while 11.1 percent of them think the conditions will worsen. Furthermore, 61.1 percent of them think their companies will be more profitable during this period with only 6.9 percent expecting profitability to decline.
Overall, the economic news from the last months of 2010 and first weeks of 2011 seems to be very pleasing indeed. According to predictions similar to this one, it looks like this positive trend is going to continue.
