During the last couple of weeks, the media has been full of news about the long expected royal wedding. Here is something else related to the royal family which could be interesting for Torontonians, since we all will have a chance to take part in it personally.
Some of the famous gowns that were worn by the "world‘s favourite princess", Diana, Princess of Wales, will be for sale in Toronto. They will be for sale at the Waddington Auction House on June 23rd. Princess Diana herself sold all 14 dresses to Florida entrepreneur Maureen Rorech Dunkel back in 1997, with all procees being donated to charity. After years of touring the globe, still for charity purposes, Dunkel has decided it is best to sell them.
I think this will certainly be of interest to many Canadians. Not everyone can afford to buy one of these gowns, I‘m sure they will be very expensive. It can still be nice to dream. Wouldn‘t it be amazing to own, or at least see in person, some of the dresses of the unforgettable princess? Thanks to events like this, princess Diana will live forever.
