Vacation season is approaching quickly. Many of you are probably pondering where to spend a couple of weeks this summer. Let me offer you a little inspiration. Here is a list of ten places in the Americas (and the Caribbean) that are definitely worth a visit.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas is offers everything from family holidays to exciting outings with a group of friends. Either way, you can have the time of your life! The city full of blinding lights, hotels and casinos and is visited by about 30 million people every year.

New York
Visiting the Big Apple is a dream for many. If you not into lying on the beach, it certainly is the right place for you. Visit Times Square and the Statue of Liberty, do some shopping, and enjoy fine restaurants, lively culture, and great diversity.

Orlando
Your little ones will be over the moon if you decide to spend your summer holidays in Orlando, Florida. Visiting Disneyland is a huge dream for every kid. I believe it can be fun for parents, too — admit it, there’s an inner child in everyone. Go and say "Hi" to Mickey Mouse!

Havana

Despite the difficult political situation in Cuba, I have to admit that its beaches are absolutely gorgeous. Don‘t think twice, explore Havana and its surroundings. This pure, non-commercial island will make you feel like you are in paradise.

Barbados
Little England, as this Caribbean island is often called, is simply magical. Thanks to its fabulous hotels and beautiful beaches, it is a very popular tourist destination. It can be a romantic place for couples in love, as well as a relaxing retreat for families.

Rio de Janeiro
Street carnivals, wild colours, and unbelievable costumes come to my mind when thinking about Rio de Janeiro. Whether you prefer beaches or mountains, Rio has it all! Are you ready for the fiesta?

Victoria

Let‘s not forget about Canada. One of the more interesting cities in Canada is Victoria, the capital of British Columbia. The city of gardens has a lot to offer, and if you are not keen on spending all your time sunbathing, it may be just right for you.

Cancun
If you are into the classical holidays on the beach but also enjoy interesting nightlife, Cancun will feel like heaven to you. Aside from the beautiful Caribbean sea, Cancun is well known for its tasty food — so go enjoy some authentic Mexican cuisine!

Machu Picchu
Get lost in history and explore what the Inca civilization left behind. Machu Picchu can present some challenges if you choose to hike the trail (3 to 5 days at altitudes of up to 4,200m!), though you can opt to take the train in also. It is an unforgettable experience for all travellers seeking adventure, mystery and pure beauty.
