Bossypants Book Cover
Have you ever felt like you were trapped in a dead end job that was not right for you? Is self-confidence something you struggle with from time to time? Do you ever feel silly or misunderstood? Then Tina Fey’s book Bossypants is for you, and not in a preachy, self-help kind of way. Bossypants pokes fun at all the insecurities we face as human beings in a hilariously comforting way. By joking around about her own “flaws”, Fey lets her readers accept their quirks for what they are and be okay with saying “to heck with it!”
Whether you are upset because you can not fit into your skinny jeans or you are angry that your boss refuses to take you seriously – Fey helps you find a little bit of perspective for any given problem. She starts at full tilt, right from the beginning and with hilarious detail and self-deprecating humor tells the story of all the momentous (and not so momentous) occurrences that got her to where she is now.
If you are a fan of Tina Fey and want to learn more about her days on Saturday Night Live and how she secured the success of her hit show 30 Rock – there is plenty of that in store. But even if you are not familiar with her work and simply want to laugh your pants off – Bossypants is sure to please. Fey is both honest and witty as she shares embarrassing anecdotes and ridiculous photographs from childhood to motherhood. She even has a section where she answers some of the most bizarre fan mail that has come her way over the years. And she sure does not pull any punches!
Whether she is mocking her past forms of employment, poking fun at society’s thin-obsession or sharing the ups and downs of being a new mom – her witty banter and inviting humor will appeal to virtually everyone. Just reading the back cover page will have you giggling in the book store. Get yourself a copy of Tina Fey’s Bossypants and you are sure to enjoy a couple of quality laugh-out-loud moments!
