Uncle Betty’s Diner
You may have heard of Uncle Betty’s and their famous Ultimate Grilled Cheese. A brunch stample, this sandwich is melted with white and yellow cheddar cheese, a slab of homemade mac ‘n cheese, topped with your choice of pulled pork, all-beef meatloaf or grilled veggies drizzled with homemade roasted garlic aioli. This monster of a sandwich put this vibrant diner on the map in midtown Toronto but they also offer a large variety of sweet and savoury options if an indulgent grilled cheese is not to your fancy. Their french toast is stuffed with ricotta and fresh blueberries, while their Betty’s Benny is served with peameal bacon on a Hawaiian sweet roll. The best part? You can mix the two together and make your own sandwich using one of their fresh, homemade donuts.
Bar Buca
If you prefer your brunch to be ultra chic, Bar Buca is the place for you. Here, you can enjoy olive oil-fried pancakes, topped with whipped ricotta and draped in a grappa maple syrup while enjoying a glass of wine from their extensive wine list. Alternatively, you might prefer crispy duck eggs with a refreshing cocktail such as a Clara di Buca which contains Bombay Sapphire gin, St.Germain, Peroni Nastro Azurro, lemon, cucumber and dill. Please note that due to current restrictions, Bar Buca in Yorkville is only open for pickup and delivery. If you are seeking patio dining, their King West location is open for your patronage.
