Tips on How to sell your Toronto Condo Fast

Just because you own a condo in Toronto does not guarantee that you will sell it quickly. In a market that has plenty of condos to choose from, you will need some tips and tricks along the way to help you. Here are some tried and tested ways I have learned along the way on how to sell your condo fast.

Decide Which Improvements Are Worthwhile

It takes money to make money. Before you officially list your condo you will need to prepare it for sale. Depending on the condition of your unit, this could be just a fresh coat of paint, or it could include some significant remodelling.

One of the best ways to determine how much work your suite will need is to talk to your real estate agent. Because of COVID, it may not be possible to attend open houses of comparable suites, but your agent will have access to photos of recently sold listings to give you a sense of what appeals to buyers and what does not. Creating a plan together with your real estate agent will help you understand which home improvements are worthwhile.

Stage Your Home

One of the best pieces of advice I have given my clients on how to sell your condo fast is to invest in staging. While you may love your furniture a great deal, it may not show your home in its best light. Reaching out to a professional stager they will be able to decorate your condo with furnishing and artwork to ensure your home looks perfect from every possible angle. While staging can be a little expensive, and a little tricky in the times of COVID however, there are other options available. You can arrange a consult with some stagers about what would need to be done and you can stage the home yourself based off their consultation. Virtual staging is another alternative that can offer flexibility and lower costs.

Declutter and Organize

In addition to hiring a professional stager to help you market your home in the best possible light, you will also want to declutter and organize. When a home is full of personal items such as family photographs it becomes hard for a potential homebuyer to see the condo as anything other than your home. While these are treasured memories that should not be thrown away, I do suggest packing them early so that they can be enjoyed in your next home. This will also make moving a lot easier as you will have already started to appreciate what you use and what you do not. Those items that you do not use often can be donated and those that you need can be kept in storage.
